Pole Lathe Workshop
This one-day course is designed for people with some experience of carpentry, or those who have already attended our Green Wood Stool Course. It is an excellent opportunity to get away from it all; a day to relax in calm woodland surroundings doing something different.
Our focus is to teach you how to use a pole lathe.
The philosophy is that you arrive in the woodland with nothing, gather your materials from site, turn your creation in the wood and only take home what you need. All the shavings and turnings are left in the wood to rot down to help the forest.
In making a garden Dibbler (bottom left in the picture below) you will learn to use woodturning tools safely & accurately, and experience a range of techniques to form and pattern the wood.
After the course you take away with your dibber all these techniques, enabling you to start making turned ornaments and furniture at home.
Venue: Workshop in the Woods
